The track at Bruntwood Park first played host to BMX racing in the early years of the sport in the 1980s.
In the following decades the track fell into disrepair, with the original track becoming little more than a narrow strip of dirt. The resurgence of the sport in the 21st Century brought funding from Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council and Sport England enabling Dirtworks to create a new track suitable for national level competition.
A new track needs a new club to build a foundation for riders both new and established to make the most out of the facility. Clubs are the grassroots of the sport where riders get their first taste of competition and are supported as they progress. Although the track at Bruntwood Park is open and free to use, a club based at the track allows structured training sessions to be run and for the track to host racing at all levels.
Bruntwood Park BMX Club is run by volunteers. We are committed to providing a positive, inclusive environment for enjoyment and progression in BMX racing.
From the initial stages of the project local shop North West Mountain Bike Centre have been instrumental in the formation of Bruntwood Park BMX Club and continue to be a major club partner. Rockfield Media provide essential media support.
